HALIBURTON HEIGHTS has experienced tremendous growth since it started in 1991. The combined HILLS & HEIGHTS population boasts well over 700 families with over 80 lots sold and waiting for the new owners to decide that the time is right to build.

HALIBURTON HEIGHTS is very fortunate to have sandy, gravelly soil that ensures dry basements. The well water is plentiful and of good quality. Wells average 100 to 200 feet deep and can be drilled for a guaranteed price of $2700 (HST not included).
The "away from it all atmosphere" is why most people buy in the HEIGHTS, but conveniences are just across the street. The Hubley Centre Mall was expanded recently and now includes a Tim Hortons, KFC, two gas stations and one of the largest 24 hour Sobeys stores in the province. There are many other stores and services ranging from banks to garden centres with many more planned.
An RCMP detachment and seniors housing were completed in 1994. Traffic lights were also installed allowing a very quick exit from the subdivision for the 15-minute drive to Bedford or Halifax (25 minutes to downtown). This will become quicker and safer as the twinning of the 103 Highway proceeds. For summer time beach lovers, Queensland is only 15 minutes away.
There are several hundred children and teenagers in the subdivision. What could be a better influence on kids than having natural surroundings and acres of forest in the back yard? Children are bussed to nearby schools and are picked up at various locations within the development. A big expansion to the elementary school in Hammonds Plains is now completed. Also, there are two new schools for the area.

The lakes bounded by HALIBURTON HILLS and HEIGHTS are accessible to all residents by parklands. Flat Lake has gravelled walking trails while Elbow Lake parkland has a gazebo, grassed area and a boardwalk. The Buckingham Common playfield / playground has a brand new basketball pad! The community association - a very active group, plans these projects. The subdivision has double tennis courts and there is a summer time pool at the St. Margarets Arena across from the subdivision.
While there are lots of physical recreation activities, a stroll in the evening or a walk in the parkland can be a perfect way to put the day in perspective. Alongside the subdivision is a strip of hundreds of acres of Crown parkland with miles of woodsroads. This is an excellent recreation area for walking, jogging, bikes or pets!
